Does UPI makes you spend more without realizing it?

Today, I went to the market with my mom. When I came back home, I was astonished with the amount that I had spent on a little purchase. I bought 4 keychains; 2 hair accessories and 2 bracelets of Rs 80 each as they were on sale. My ₹640 were spent. The real issue is that while I was making the purchase, I didn't feel the money leaving my pocket and I wasn't thinking that such a small purchase would turn into this amount. I was shocked completely. This made me thought about the cons of online payments, so I am here to share it with you.  Every day, we make transactions. Some may be in the form of cash while others may be in the form of UPI. Both types have their own pros and cons. However, this article is based on my personal experience, that, why I feel that the UPI is draining our pockets every day. What the Studies have shown? A recent study by the IIT  Delhi has revealed that : 1] 74.2% of the users had reported increased spending after UPI. 2] 7% of the users have reported...

HOW TO BUILD WEALTH AS A WOMAN? Women have to carry the  " double burden" of work life, household chores, childcare, family needs and academic life, etc. While some of them have managed their finances well, while others are unaware of that.       In this article, there is a systematic plan for women who are struggling with their money.  Let us first dive into the major expenses of women; 1] Grooming expenses are on the top of the list. I will be very real, for the reason that I am also a woman. We spend a lot every month getting ourselves groomed such as threading, waxing, manicures, pedicures, haircuts, spa visits for xyz reasons. This almost consumes a major portion of our income to be honest. There expenses can't be denied as being groomed gives a full sense of confidence. 2] Academic expenses: If she is living far away from her home or she is doing job along with her studies, then she has to take into consideration the academic expenses too and has to...

LIFESTYLE INFLATION

WHY EARNING MORE ALWAYS DOESN'T MAKE YOU RICH? Me and one of my friends are earning Rs 20,000 and Rs 50,000 per month respectively. Somehow, I managed to have Rs 7,000 lying in my account by the 29th of every month whereas, she struggles with a contracted budget till then.  She keeps wondering where she goes wrong. Yet, she never understands her own shortcomings.    Why she struggles? First of all, let me tell you what are the reasons for this: 1] The itch of living a luxurious lifestyle:  As soon as our salaries get a hike, we get uncontended with our lifestyle and begin chasing luxury. In the wake of such mentality, we erode our budget and are left with little much to save. However, this is where we commit a biggest mistake. That is, more income doesn't ensure a wealthier future unless, we are fully aware of what we are doing with our money. 2] No insurance plans or security schemes:  Let us take an instance to understand this point. A boy named Ramesh has sav...

The Multiple Bank Account Method

Qn: How many Bank Accounts should I have to manage my money properly? Ans:  In one of my blogs, I had mentioned about keeping separate accounts for varied purposes which kind of sounds complex. I am here to explain how manageable it becomes, once you know the process. I have been working as a government servant for the past one year. So you might be wondering that I am receiving a package of Rs 50000/- plus per month, but that's not the case. I am a semi-government employee, working as a Gramin Dak Sevak [BPM] , with a monthly salary of Rs 19500/- , out of which rs 2000-3000/- goes for paying stationery charges as well as the office rent.  Initially, I didn't know how to spend my salary, so that I could have a decent amount existing in my account towards the month end. Hence, I barely managed my money efficiently and always ended up overspending that what was actually needed. Solution: One fine day, I decided to organize my money into several accounts , each will serve ...
